I've been calling for impeachment since 2003. (Proposal: Impeachment, G.W. Bush, Articles of Impeachment against GW Bush) So this week, when Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich brought his impeachment resolution to the floor of the House of Representatives, well, let's just say I'm riled up again.
Why Cheney first? It's simple, both of them are complicit and if we were to manage to remove Bush it would leave Cheney as President. But if Cheney were removed then perhaps that would be enough damage to the Administration that it would resolve the problem, and in any case if we later removed Bush then we would not face the situation of Cheney then being in power.
It seems the fate of the country is in the balance. Under the Bush Administration, and under Cheney's theories of the powers of the President, there has been a drastic incursion on civil liberties, and much more which if left in place for future presidents will represent a destruction of the nature of our country.

You simply have to be willing to take the 10 steps." The article details 10 steps to turn a free society into a dictatorship. These steps have been taken over and over in countries around the world and have been demonstrated to work. Most recently they were taken following the Coup in Thailand that overthrew the Democracy there. Article Reference: | 2007-04-25 08:26

| Will McClellan Be John Dean to Bush's Richard Nixon? |
In 2003 Ambassador Joe Wilson published an op-ed piece saying he had investigated the reports of Niger selling Uranium (yellow cake) to Iraq, and found them to be false, but that Pres. Bush and other administration officials had gone ahead and spouted that lie as if it were truth. Shortly afterward Ambassador Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame, was exposed as a CIA agent. It is treason to reveal the identity of a secret agent under cover, especially in a time of war. Article Reference: | 2007-11-28 22:21
| ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT OF PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH | On June 10 Congressman Dennis Kucinich filed a proposal in Congress to Impeach George W. Bush. It's expected this will be ignored by officialdom and indeed the Congress has already voted to send it to committee (the same as burying it). As I called for impeachment way back in 2003, I am in full agreement with what Kucinich has done. He's done a great job with these Articles of Impeachment. The following is the complete articles of impeachment, copied from Rep. Kucinich's website, the link is below. | 2008-06-13 08:04 | |||||
| Dennis Kucinich Sums It Up | I don't think we should shut up about that. That is, we shouldn't shut up about the tremendous litany of crimes and misdemeanors committed by the Bush Administration. Bush should not be able to just leave office and slink on back to Texas or Kuwait or wherever he's going to end up and live off the millions made from the blood of American soldiers. Indeed. | How to Impeach | How to Impeach is an ouline of the method of conducting an impeachment. Impeachment itself is technically just an accusation of guilt, made by the House of Representatives. As we saw during the Clinton years a President can be impeached without being removed from office if the Senate did not Convict. In this case, unlike the Clinton case, there are clear high crimes and misdemeanors which ought to be addressed. Article Reference: | 2008-06-13 08:20 | |||||

| Democrats scuttle proposal to impeach Bush | As expected the articles of impeachment ran into some headwind and got detoured into limbo. By a 251-166 vote, the House sent the 35-count articles of impeachment to the Judiciary Committee, which is expected to let it die without further action. While the vote technically forces the measure to the committee for consideration, it also means the full House will avoid having to debate and vote on impeaching the 43d president. -- notice, 166 of the Representatives did not want this referred to committee. | 2008-06-13 08:40 | |||||
| Senate Report: Bush Used Iraq Intel He Knew Was False | There's long been a question whether the Bush Administration was knowing telling falsehoods to justify the Iraq War or whether they were just confused. There's no doubt that the justifications they used were false ... but impeachability or culpability in a large extent rests on whether they purposely lied. Of course being so completely confused as to threaten us with Iraqi nuclear weapons, that did not exist, doesn't give any confidence as to their qualifications for high office. Senate Intelligence Committee has finally released a long delayed report which covers these questions. | 2008-06-13 20:20 | |||||
